2. SOUNDBITE (English) Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA):
“Today inspectors are back in Iran. This is important. When the attacks began and the aftermath that there were many voices in Iran advocating the end of every cooperation, any cooperation, with the agency. There were voices in the world arguing that perhaps the IAEA would never go back and that we would lose these indispensable, you know, work that we carry out on behalf of the international community. Well, so I can say that it is important that the inspectors are back. At the same time, we still need to clarify a number of things. We still need to address all the issues that are important in terms of the inspection that we have to carry out, in, in Iran."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA):
"How we do this? Iran passed legislation requiring certain security concerns to be addressed. We want to know what these concerns are, how we can address them. So they have a new system, internal system, which is for us, it is, you know, we don’t have an issue with that. Countries may have the internal processes that they wish to have, as long as it is not incompatible with the fulfillment of their legal obligations. So these are things that we are discussing at the technical level with Iran. I hope that we will be able to get, to get that agreement soon. The fact that the inspectors are back is already, is an early indication, that there is progress in that direction.

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA):
“(Reporter: Do you understand, do you know the source of the threat?) Yes. (Reporter: And the threat and the source of the threats is Iran?) Well, I don’t want to get into that, but he’s right in that direction. And I, again, you know, I want to have a constructive relationship with, with Iran. I regret that there are threats. And of course, we have the information that has led, the whole country of the IAEA can take this seriously.”

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA):
“I never want to point fingers, as you know, we are reporting on what we see. And being inspectors, we point fingers when we know exactly. But what we know is that there has been an attack on the Kursk nuclear power plant, and there are regular attacks or attempts to approach or to hit Zaporizhzhia with drones or projectile of this type. So what I’m saying is that things are not getting any easier.”
