"I was surprised by her internal struggles, her darkness, her pain, how much she was suffocating. And I think those deep cracks within her, that’s where she connects to characters in my past, like Lisbeth Salander and myself. You know, a constant sort of self-doubt and, you know, questioning, but you keep pushing forward and you keep fighting for what you believe in, even when your heart is saying something else."

"You know, I read a lot of negative things, I read positive things, I read people praising her and criticising her, and then mainly her letters, and how all this kind of lived in my body and in numerous long conversations, a year and a half working with Teona, we were kind of going deeper and deeper and deeper, and on the first day of shooting, I decided to just let go and allow Teresa to take charge."
