Now, what a lot of people do over Labor Day weekend is take short road trips, or maybe even staycations. But if they’re doing short road trips, what we’re advising is leave, if you’re gonna leave on Thursday or Friday, do it earlier in the day. What a lot of people do is they wait until they get off work and then hit the road. You’re gonna get some traffic there, because if where you live, schools are back in session, you’re going to have school traffic mixed in with some travelers.”

“But for the people who are going out of town, our AAA booking data shows that people are going to Seattle because of Alaska cruises, Orlando for the theme parks and for the cruises that leave out of central Florida and New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, those classic American cities, as well as Las Vegas and Denver. And those cities, a lot of people will fly in, rent a car, and then explore the area and explore national parks. Miami’s also high on the list."

So, there are those people with families with little kids who, let’s say they go back to school after Labor Day weekend. So maybe they’re already on their vacations and extending it through Labor Day, but if people are back in their fall routines already, they’re probably not going to out of town for longer than a night or two.”
