2. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"The special military operation is continuing. You see that the Kyiv regime is also continuing to strike at Russian infrastructure facilities, often at Russian civilian infrastructure. The Russian armed forces are also fulfilling their tasks. They, as stated, are continuing to strike at military and paramilitary infrastructure facilities. The strikes are successful, the targets are being destroyed, the special military operation continues. At the same time, Russia maintains its interest in continuing the negotiation process in order to achieve the goals that we face through political and diplomatic means."
STORYLINE:
The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russia remained interested in continuing Ukraine peace talks, despite striking Kyiv with missiles and drones.

"The special military operation is continuing," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

He said Ukraine continued to attack Russian infrastructure and that Moscow’s forces were striking military targets.

"The strikes are successful; the targets are being destroyed," Peskov said.

"At the same time, Russia maintains its interest in continuing the negotiation process in order to achieve our goals through political and diplomatic means".
