"So right now, there are 25 million heat pumps installed in Europe. So it’s somewhere between 15 and 20% of European households that are supplied with heat pumps as their main heating system. The target by 2030, the European target by 2013, is to have 60 million heat pumps. Now, it’s going to be quite difficult to meet that target. But effectively, more than doubling from today’s 25 million to somewhere between 50 and 60 million by 2030 is what Europe sees as necessary to support the climate ambitions, to support energy security and to support the reduction in need to buy fossil fuels from abroad."

"Why Pilsen? In fact, it was a very important point connecting to Panasonic policies, in fact. Because, as you know, we had a TV factory sitting in Pilsen and we had a really good people sitting in Pilsen. So, I think it’s something that came with the times. So we needed to go from traditional TV businesses to heat pump technologies. And we had the right place. We had the right people, and we thought it was the right transition."
