Angela Rayner has resigned as the UK’s deputy prime minister, housing secretary and deputy leader of the Labour Party over failing to pay enough tax on a flat in Hove, East Sussex.
Rayner referred herself to the PM’s ethics adviser earlier this week, after admitting underpaying stamp duty on her £800,000 flat.
An ethics report found she breached the ministerial code and "did not heed the caution" in legal advice she received. In her resignation letter, she said she takes "full responsibility" for the "error".
