STORYLINE:
Authorities in Pakistan expanded their rescue operations as they continued to evacuate residents in the Punjab province hit by massive floods.
More than 900,000 have been evacuated so far, officials reported Monday.

A flotilla carrying activists and humanitarian aid for Gaza left Barcelona’s port on Monday.
Dozens more boats are expected to join the flotilla from across the Mediterranean later this week, making it the largest attempt yet to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory by sea.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said he “would constitutionally declare a republic in arms” if the country were attacked by U.S. forces.
His comments come after the U.S. announced plans to boost maritime force in the waters off Venezuela to combat drug cartels. The U.S. has not signaled any planned land incursion.
