STORYLINE:
Director Gus Van Sant was joined by actors Colman Domingo and Cary Elwes at the Venice Film Festival premiere Tuesday of their new film, “Dead Man’s Wire.”
Co-stars Dacre Montgomery, Myha’la and Jordan Claire Robbins also joined the American filmmaker in Venice.
The film is based on the true story of a kidnapping committed by a man named Tony Kiritsis in 1977.
Kiritsis took a mortgage company’s president hostage, demanding $5 million and a personal apology, after feeling exploited by the firm.
Actor Bill Skarsgård, who wasn’t in attendance, plays Kiritsis in the movie, with Montgomery portraying mortgage boss Richard O. Hall.
Al Pacino also features in the film as Hall’s father.
"Dead Man’s Wire" is showing out of competition at the Venice International Film Festival.
