Kravitz: "For me I identified with Sweetness in a lot of ways, of course being the mixed race daughter. When I got the script I loved it and I was terrified, I didn’t think I could do it, I’m like, I don’t think I’m capable and Victoria believed in me and she just like ‘Zoe, they do not write these roles, they do not write these roles for you, this is not going to come back,’ and it is true, they don’t you know. I had to just kind of go for it."
Kravitz: "You know, it is very animalistic, she is just trying to survive really, is what she is trying to do. She is just trying to make it through the day without getting her ass beat or getting her heart broken, so, I think it is just human nature is what she is going through, you know. Does that make sense?"
Sidibe:"I feel that at some point we were in some weird abandoned, like shafty building that was super cold."
Zoe Kravitz, actress:
"Oh, no, our ‘base camp.’ OK, our base camp, where most people have trailers and this and that, was like an abandoned warehouse in Queens."
Gabourey Sidibe: "I’m not even sure we were supposed to be there or if anyone knew. I would roll up in a car or something and there would be this white building and it’s like ‘where is the movie?’ ‘In there,’ and it looks half torn down."
Zoe Kravitz: "Literally an abandoned warehouse."
Gabourey Sidibe: "yeah."
