It’s something that I really put a lot of my heart and soul into, was the transformation for this role, so it’s really strange to even talk about it but it was one of the hardest things about doing this character for sure."

"I read for Scott (Hicks), the director, and he liked what I did so we did a screen test with Zac (Efron) and it’s sort of like that thing that you can’t describe for screen tests. And the thing is it was so comfortable around him. I never felt for a second awkward or weird. And so from that screen test it was just off to the races."
"It doesn’t fit with every other aspect of my personality but there is this part of me that I love to go and see these weepy movies with my girlfriends on the weekends and just sort of sniffle in the corner. I do, I like it. It works for me, so to be a part of it was kind of wild and exciting."

This is a great set up for a love story, for a romance, like ‘The Lucky One,’ so that was what hooked me at the outset."
