"It’s a trip. This is something I’ve never imagined would happen in my life. I’m just a geek from Alabama, so my inner kid right now is so excited for this. I never imagined I would see a character I have played on this kind of scale in one of my favorite theme parks in the world. So this is amazing to me."
(Reporter: "What’s it like to know that you’re finally going to be able to experience what everybody here has watching your character, your film?")
"I’m a little worried, very, very worried. I was like, it’s about time the tables get turned on me. So we’ll see what happens. Hopefully no one scares me too much."

(Reporter: "Was it easy to disassociate from ‘that’s me behind this character?’")
"I can usually disassociate from that because for once it doesn’t look like me, I’ve always been very judgmental of how I look anyway, so I usually hate watching my own work. So when I watch the ‘Terrifier’ films, I’m like, ‘oh that’s not me, that’s Art the Clown.’ So I can totally disassociate myself from all of that. And plus I filmed the kill so I know what happens so I don’t get scared. I’m usually laughing at everything. So I don’t know what that says about me."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) David Howard Thornton, actor – on why ‘Terrifier’ worked:
"We had total freedom to do what we wanted to do. We didn’t have to worry about studios over us the whole entire time saying you can’t do this, you can do that. We just made the type of film that we wanted see and we were trying to pay tribute to the films we all grew up with in the 70s and 80s, the great slashers that came before. And I think we brought a really cool villain to it all. It’s like I look at Art as being the amalgamation of all the horror icons that came before him. He’s a love-letter to the genre and our films are a love-letter to the genre. So I think that’s why it kind of resonated with a lot of the fans. It was like we put, we’re ourselves geeks. We love horror films. We especially love slasher films and we made the type of film that we wanted to see."

"Yeah, I mean in the case of ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ and ‘Terrifier,’ that all came from the fans. They’ve been asking for those specific properties for years, so it’s great to be at the point where you can go, ‘hey, here you go. This is either your worst nightmare or your dream come true, you pick it.’"

"Yeah, it’s more than a year long. Like in March of this year, I was already working with my colleagues to plan 2026. So it overlaps, sometimes we’re working on both at the same time."
