One of North America’s oldest sports is now the world’s fastest-growing team sport: lacrosse. For the first time in over a century, the stick sport will be back in the Olympics in 2028. But while professional leagues are launching and an ESPN deal was inked in June 2025, the sport still struggles to loose its long-time identity of being a sport for affluent Americans.
