"It is very important for us to show our support, with everything that is happening, we see all the evidence on social networks, today, everything is documented. And for us, the least we can do is everyone must do something on their own level. The least one could do today is free up our time, so one can at least come to this march. And there is the boycott, there are also other initiatives that need to be taken, including this (marching), so for us it was really important today to come here."

6. SOUNDBITE (French) Mokthar El Hassouni, Brussels resident:
"(What is happening in Gaza) It’s killing us a little by little from the inside, it is impossible to conceive that we are living in a society that reached this level. We talk a lot about democracy, freedom, humanity, etc. but we see that there are double standards. On some countries, we actually see some sanctions being imposed, on others not. And for us, it touches me more deeply in my opinion."

STORYLINE:
Huge crowds marched on Sunday in Brussels to protest Israel’s war in Gaza.
110,000 protesters joined the march, according to the organizers, while the police say they counted 70,000 people.
Many marchers wore red and held red placards.
Protest organizers said the intention was to show “a red card to Israel and its accomplices."
Marchers chanted “Boycott Israel,” “Free, free Palestine” and other slogans and some carried placards that read “Stop Genocide.”
