"TV is more important to me than anyone in my family. I love television. My wife gets angry because I put a television in every room in our house. One of the great moments of my life was claiming the 12 inch black and white TV we had in the living room when we finally went to Sears and got a color TV. As soon as that new TV went in, I grabbed that little TV and I ran upstairs and I plugged it in. My parents and I would watch TV. I’d be watching the same show they were watching. We’d watch Hill Street Blues together every, I think, Thursday night and I’d up on the balcony during the commercial breaks. We would review the show. They would be down in the living room watching on the color TV and I be up watching on my little black and white TV and that’s where I discovered David Letterman so it’s very special to me."

"Well, those are heavy thoughts and I have a tendency to reject them. I don’t necessarily feel like I’m defending democracy, but I do feel like I’m giving this guy a little poke, and he deserves it, and I enjoy it, and I love that people enjoy it too."

"I think it’s, I would say, lay low to start with, because the ones you kind of come into every year usually crash and burn, and also listen, and the thing is, you’ve got to sort of always try and remember it’s just a game, because it’s sort of a Lord of the situation, all the contestants become completely illogical. And just because they’re in this bubble. So I think, try and remember, it’s just a game. But also, I feel like, you know, no matter what you do, no matter which tactics you take, it’s such a game of chance. You could be going great guns and then the next day you’re dead. It’s just, what is an allegory of life?"

STORYLINE:
Jimmy Kimmel, who has hosted both the Oscars and the Emmys multiple times, was here to accept his fourth Emmy, for best host of a game show for his work on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”
“Jeopardy” won best game show, while Alan Cumming won best host of a reality show for “The Traitors.”
The two-night Creative Arts Emmys hands out nearly 100 awards in hyper-specific categories that can bring oddities.
The Creative Arts show runs quickly and efficiently — 47 awards are handed out on Sunday alone in about 2 1/2 hours — but the atmosphere is loose.
The two nights are edited down into one show that will air on FXX this Saturday. The following day, the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Nate Bargatze, will air live on CBS.
While Sunday honored variety, documentary and reality TV, scripted series had the stage on Saturday.
