The Central Council of Jews in Germany marks 75 years: “there is also happy Jewish life” | DW News

The Central Council of Jews in Germany is marking its 75th anniversary this year. Founded five years after the Holocaust ended, its mission is to speak for "Jews in Germany." Today, it represents the interests of over 100 Jewish communities, counting around 100,000 members, in politics, society, and Jewish organizations. DW spoke with the president of the Central Council of Jews, Josef Schuster, about antisemitism, criticism toward Israel’s government, and Jewish life in Germany.
