"Just after 1:00 today, we responded to the DNC where we had a report of a potential bomb threat. We immediately swept the outside of the building, and did not find anything. And we are in the process of clearing the interior of the building right now. We have not found anything at this time."

"You know, we’ve seen a threat environment that has exploded over the last year. Going back to, you know, tracking over 13,000 threats by the end of the year. So, that that environment was present before today. And we’re prepared to continue to react and keep the members of Congress safe."

Reporter off camera: "Any idea where this particular threat against the agency came from today?"
Sullivan: "Yeah, we’re working through that right now. It came in through an email message. They were continuing to work, work the leads that we have to be able to hold folks accountable."

"We unfortunately respond to a number of these, and normally we don’t have press conferences and we don’t have, you know, a number of to show up to report on these, something that we routinely respond to and clear on what I would say on a regular basis. But this is different today, after the events that happened yesterday. And we’re talking about this is the the anniversary of 9/11. And I think that’s why you see me speaking here today. And I think that’s why you are here today as well."
10. Cutaway of Sullivan walking back into building
STORYLINE:
A bomb threat at the DNC headquarters was determined to be not credible, according to a statement from a DNC spokesperson.
U.S. Capitol Police said after being alerted to the threat, they did not find anything outside of the building.
Out of an abundance of caution, they were checking the interior of the building.
"We unfortunately respond to a number of these, and normally we don’t have press conferences," said Capitol Hill Police Chief Michael Sullivan.
"But this is different today, after the events that happened yesterday. And we’re talking about this is the the anniversary of 911 only. And I think that’s why you see me speaking here today. And I think that’s why you are here today as well."
