"I don’t think I can overstate the impact that Mr. Armani had on myself as a designer, as a customer. Everything he designed really changed the way people live. And isn’t that the most exciting thing for a designer to see people actually wearing their clothes and informing how they dress. When he brought his show to New York last year, I was fortune enough to be there. And the elegance and the timelessness of everything he showed. And then, at 90 years old, to have the energy to do all of that. And then when I went to go say hello to him after the show, he was tired and he had gone home. And the next day he sent me a note, thanking me for coming to the show and apologizing that he couldn’t get to see me. Those kind of manners and that kind of thoughtfulness is something that will never go out of style."
