"What hurts him is that there isn’t a compelling reason to get rid of Mayor Wu. I think most people feel that she’s done a pretty good job and whatever problems that she has or the city has are enduring ones and they’re not easily solved. So, voters are willing to give her a second chance, a second term, instead of taking a gamble on somebody who they don’t really know very much about politically because he’s a bit of a cipher having not worked in Democratic politics or politics in general in the city of Boston."
