STORYLINE:
A series of explosions could be seen over the Gaza Strip from the Israeli border throughout Friday evening.
The Israeli military said on Friday that it "continues its wide-scale strikes on terrorist infrastructure and high-rise structures that had been converted into military infrastructure in Gaza City," adding that 500 targets have been struck.
Israel’s war in Gaza began after Hamas-led militants killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, on Oct. 7, 2023, and abducted 251 hostages.
Israel’s offensive has killed more than 64,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which does not say how many were civilians or combatants.
