Taliban partially bans internet access due to ‘immoral activity’ in several Afghan provinces

In Afghanistan, the Taliban government has banned internet access in parts of the country to prevent what they call ‘immoral activity.’ The ban will cover at least five provinces in the north and is limited to fibre-optic cable networks. Mobile phone internet will still be available. It’s the latest in a series of hardline measures the Taliban have introduced since returning to power in 2021.
