"For all intents and purposes, Windsor might be a small town, but once again it’s stepping up to be host of a truly global moment. This week, President Donald Trump will arrive here at Windsor Castle, where King Charles will host him for his 2nd state visit. This is an historic occasion. No other US president has received a second state visit invitation."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Mustakim Hasnath, The Associated Press:
"But behind the spectacle lies a really complex multi-agency policing effort. Thames Valley Police, the force that operates here, are working with officers from across the country. Hundreds of officers are being drafted in to police this event, including help from the UK’s military and Secret Service from the US."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Mustakim Hasnath, The Associated Press:
"One of the highlights of the visits will be the state banquet which takes place Wednesday evening. It surely will be an event to watch closely from around the world, not just for the ceremony, but for what it signals at a politically sensitive time."

STORYLINE:
U.S. President Donald Trump will arrive in the United Kingdom on Tuesday for a state visit during which the British government hopes a multibillion-dollar technology deal will show the trans-Atlantic bond remains strong despite differences over Ukraine, the Middle East and the future of the Western alliance.
Hundreds of officers from around the country have been drafted in to police this event, including from the UK’s military and Secret Service from the US.
The town of Windsor geared up for the event with Union Jack and US flags waving in the streets and miniature Trump toys displayed in the shop windows.
Trump is the first U.S. president to get a second state visit to the U.K.
The unprecedented nature of the invitation, along with the expectation of lavish pomp and pageantry, holds dual appeal to Trump.
Trump’s two-day trip comes complete with horse-drawn carriages, military honor guards and a glittering banquet inside a 1,000-year-old castle — all tailored to a president with a fondness for gilded splendor.
King Charles III will host Trump at Windsor Castle on Wednesday before talks the next day with Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, the British leader’s rural retreat.
