Germany recruits truck drivers from West Africa | Focus on Europe

When it comes to logistics, Germany is one of Europe’s leaders. More than 3 million people work to keep this sector operational in the continent’s economic powerhouse. Still, Germany is facing critical shortages in the workforce, due in part to a demographic shift. To address the gap, one company has turned to recruiting overseas in West Africa. The future employees are moving to Cologne in West Germany to be trained as truck drivers. It’s opening up opportunities for people like Fatoumata Diarra from the Ivory Coast.
