Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to address the UN General Assembly. Netanyahu has been highly critical of a growing number of UN members that have recognised a Palestinian state, in protest over Israel’s war in Gaza. On Thursday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas gave his speech to the UN and accused Israel of war crimes in Gaza. He also rejected any future role for Hamas. Abbas delivered his remarks by video link, after the Trump administration revoked his visa to enter the United States.
