At least 36 people have been killed in a stampede in India at a political rally in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Children were among the dead and dozens of others were injured. Officials say the popular actor and politician Vijay was addressing the gathering when some of his supporters fell as they tried to get close to his campaign bus.
