2. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Raeda Eliyan, displaced:
"We left. Here are our belongings, in the street, and we don’t know where to go. There is no water, no food or drink, no transportation. Where do we go? There is no place to shelter. We are exhausted and we are actually finished. It is all for nothing. They have neither killed us nor have they given us relief. It’s all for nothing. We talk but no one cares. A brother doesn’t care about his brother. A daughter doesn’t care about her mother. The situation has became so dire."
3. Various of children with their belongings
4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Saeed Kalsh, displaced from Jabaliya:
"We went (looking) around but did not find a place to stay in. There was no tent, no bathrooms, no place for us to shelter in. There is nothing to give us some cover. We slept in the street, placing some blankets on top of us in the street. And there was nothing at all for us to use (for shelter)."
5. Various of Um Yusuf Marouf, displaced from Beit Lahiya, baking bread on fire
6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Um Yusuf Marouf, displaced from Beit Lahiya:
”As you can see, our lives are about hardship and suffering. There is no safety and no stability. The situation we are in is very exhausting. I mean, it is uncomfortable. We have to physically carry the water (when we access it) and there is no food available. (I got to) the point that I had to open an oven to bake for people, as you can see. My husband is sick with arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome. And I am an hepatitis patient, and my eldest son has a kidney condition. We thank God and praise him. We struggle in this bitter life that God has decreed on the people, as you can see, to get our daily bread."

10. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Maziouna al-Kafranah, displaced from Beit Hanoun:
”We came here to find more suffering. Look how we live in a desert. There is no water, no food, no drink, no life. Our children, these children, are done, going from the sun to the shade. We keep moving from the sun to the shade, this is not a life. No one cares about us, no countries, or people. They all get to eat and drink, while we are the afflicted over here."

12. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Maziouna al-Kafranah, displaced from Beit Hanoun:
"We can’t sleep nowadays. All night, we are thinking about how it will be with winter coming. How will winter come to us while we are in this situation in these tents? For how long? For how long? No one cares about us. They didn’t give us tents, and we don’t have tarp. They haven’t given us anything."
13. Various of displaced woman cooking outside tent
14. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Nehad Ayyad, displaced:
"Life is harder than you can imagine. I mean with water, you have to walk a kilometre (to get it). You have to get out of the camp and walk a very long distance to get a small amount of water. There isn’t a single measure of hygiene. There are no cleaning tools that you can use, for example. You have food (being cooked) on the fire. I personally suffer a lot from the fire, and I have sinus sensitivity and chest allergy. I cannot adapt to these conditions, which are absolutely inhumane conditions."
