"Indeed, in this important moment, when we are seeing all these recognitions by major states, was a result of a joint effort by our brothers in all Arab states. Therefore, the Palestinian people and its leadership appreciate this effort, stance, and continuous hard work by all Arabs for Palestine in this mission at the United Nations, and having the Arab nation working with us, with Palestine and with the Palestinian diplomats to get these recognitions."

"After the recognitions we certainly witnessed dangerous statements threatening the Palestinian existence, such as the annexation of the West Bank, or the closure of the bridge between Palestine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which is the only outlet for Palestinian people, or the confiscation of our money along with various attacks by settlers. However, we insist on continuing our work"

"There are now 160 countries that recognize the state of Palestine. So, it was an amazing scene a few days ago when the Palestinian flag was raised above the embassy of the state of Palestine in the United Kingdom as well as in France, Canada, Portugal, and the other countries that consider this a message that affirms the Palestinian right. And it asserts that the Palestinian people deserve a state, deserve the right to freedom and independence like the rest of the peoples, deserve to have a capital. And its people have the right to think about education, economy, and in participating with the world in solutions for problem that affect Earth.”

“We congratulate them for the recognition (of Palestinian statehood) by European states, which is indicative of the legitimacy of Palestine and the Palestinian government’s decisions. It is indicative of the supportive stance by our brothers in Arab countries and Iraq as well as Iraq’s commitment to the decisions by the Arab League to support Palestine. Iraq’s stance towards the Palestinian issue is firm and I believe that stance of all our (Arab) brothers is firm. We don’t accept any compromises on the right of Palestinian people and their sovereignty over all their territory.”

STORYLINE:
Arab diplomats and ambassadors visited the Palestinian Embassy in Baghdad on Thursday to offer congratulations over the recent recognition of Palestinian statehood by a furry of Western countries.
Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed al-Ruwaidi said seeing the Palestinian flag getting raised on the embassy building in countries like the United Kingdom was an "amazing scene."
Their announcements came after the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Portugal did the same. More nations are expected to follow, in defiance of Israel and the United States.
