"The runway show previewing the final Emporio Armani collection signed by Giorgio Armani before his death last month previewed in this theater where just weeks ago more than 15,000 people paid their last respects to the late designer. Mr. Armani’s presence was felt in the elegant relaxed tailoring and soft flowing textiles and touches of crystals to catch the eye. The models clapped in a moving tribute as they made their final walkthrough and the fashion crowd replied in kind. Everyone’s eyes cast toward the doorway where Mr. Armani would make his final bow. It remained empty even as the fashion crowd continued their applause as if beckoning the design team to come out. In this moment, Mr. Armani’s absence was keenly felt."
