Several Arab and Muslim countries have welcomed the US-backed peace plan for Gaza – including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt and Qatar. But Qatar – which has been acting as a mediator between Israel and Hamas – has suggested that more negotiations are needed to reach a final deal. Speaking earlier, Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson said that the parties still have to reach an agreement.
