Our response team was the first to arrive together with the army and the police to the scene and help the first injuries that were here. Luckily, there were only minor injuries.”

“In this field, there were only minor injuries because of the blast and the small cuts. There were many injuries that we rescued from the houses which collapsed. They were walking naked, walking without shoes, and you can get also cuts. Many of the injuries were just, you know, in shock, so we needed to give them water and support.”

STORYLINE:
Iranian missiles caused damaged to buildings in central Israel Sunday after the U.S. carried out strikes on Iran overnight.
In Ness Ziona, a rescue worker described helping injured people in shock after missiles caused buildings to collapse.
"This is an example of the resilience of the civilians in Israel," said Dr. Michael Alba from the medical civilian response team.
Shortly after the Iranian missile barrage, Israel announced its warplanes were conducting strikes on “military targets” in western Iran, without immediately elaborating.
The U.S. military struck three sites in Iran early Sunday, inserting itself into Israel’s effort to destroy Iran’s nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehran’s threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict.
The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that have moved to systematically eradicate the country’s air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities.
Israeli strikes began on June 13. Targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites, they killed several top military officials and nuclear scientists.
Iran retaliated by firing hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel, some of which penetrated the country’s vaunted multi-tiered air defense system.
The war so far has killed hundreds of people and wounded more than 1,000 in Iran and killed two dozen and wounded hundreds in Israel.
