“They are all children and women. They were all martyred. We took them out in pieces. What is happening is crime and injustice. The pinnacle of injustice. Such injustice has never happened before. How long will this injustice continue? The whole world sees these massacres that are happening to the Palestinian people and does not care, how long will this injustice continue? The world that claims democracy and claims human and animal rights. The Palestinian people do not have rights in this world?”

Mourners gathered on Thursday around the bodies of eight people who were killed in an overnight airstrike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

All of the dead belonged to the same family and included four children and three women.

The bodies were later taken to Al Najjar hospital.

Neighbors of the family said they were displaced residents from northern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli strike hit a room where they were living in a farm area east of Rafah.

Israel launched a large-scale offensive in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the Oct. 7 attack carried out by Hamas in southern Israel, during which around 1,200 people were killed and over 200 were taken hostage.

The more than six-month-long war in Gaza has so far killed 33,843 Palestinians and wounded 76,575 others, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
