1. SOUNDBITE (English) Emily Henry, author:
"So it’s really, just like I’m reading drafts. If I have notes, I give them to them. I am very close with two of the directors that have — the two directors who’ve been formally announced, and that’s, for ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ and ‘Beach Read’. I talk to them all the time. I feel really lucky that they want to know what the readers care about, because I think that’s my whole point of being involved, is just making sure that the reader interest is represented too, because obviously with an adaptation, the hope is that it goes well beyond the readership and people who don’t know about the books or care about the books will also love them. But like my job, I think, is to make sure that the things that are the most important to the readers make it to the final film."
