STORYLINE:
Supporters of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol gathered outside parliament on Saturday hours ahead of a parliamentary vote set to decide his political fate.
Yoon apologized earlier in the day for public anxiety caused by his short-lived attempt to impose martial law earlier this week.
In a brief televised address, he said he would not shirk legal or political responsibility for the declaration and promised not to make another attempt to impose it.
Lawmakers are set to vote on impeaching Yoon over his short-lived attempt to impose martial law, after protests grew nationwide calling for his removal.
