Bodies lie in northern Afghanistan morgue after heavy rains trigger deadly flash floods

The bodies of the dead were laid out in a northern Afghanistan morgue after flash floods from seasonal rains in Baghlan province killed at least 50 people on Friday, a Taliban official said.

Video showed torrents of floodwater flowing close to the provincial capital.

The floods also caused losses to homes and property in several districts, according to the director of Natural Disaster Management in Baghlan.

He said that the death toll was preliminary as many people remained missing.
