“We have 350 dancers from all over the world. They will be on pointe shoes for one minute. And. So I think. Again, it’s not about the record. It’s about giving for children something. And even for young dancers, something meaningful.”

STORYLINE:
A group of ballerinas gathered at the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City Wednesday to break the Guinness World Record for the most dancers on pointe at the same time for one minute.

The ballerinas come from across the U.S. and countries around the world.

The event was organized by Youth America Grand Prix, – the world’s largest dance network and ballet scholarship competition. The organization is celebrating its their 25th anniversary!

The previous world record was 306 ballerinas on pointe set in 2019.

While the record was broken it still needs to be verified before the group can be officially deemed a Guinness World Record holder.
